| Charter Station is technically a microgravity environment, although areas such as the station maglev and the variable-gee gymnasium are subject to acceleration-induced gravity. Charter Station's exterior gravity is negligible, and crew members performing EVA are required to wear thruster packs equipped with a personal rescue beacon. Additionally, personnel permanently attached to Charter Station must possess the 'spacer' microgravity gene modification. While a gymnasium is available to assist in the maintenance of "downsider" musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, it is difficult to enforce strict 100% compliance in such a regimen.
