Charter Station was constructed by the [[Annyrion Colonist - Eisshari Coalition]] as their single largest works project to date.  It was a tiny asteroid that was tunneled out to create a microgravity beehive-style tunnel habitat, along with a large empty space at one end.  Once the base construct was complete it was towed to its current position, and a large spacedock facility and docking ring was constructed in the open end.  Its intended purposes are to protect the Thinora System jumpgate from attack and to serve as the primary military shipyard for the Coalition.
 
Charter Station is technically a microgravity environment, although areas such as the station maglev and the variable-gee gymnasium are subject to acceleration-induced gravity.  Charter Station's exterior gravity is negligible, and crew members performing EVA are required to wear thruster packs equipped with a personal rescue beacon.  Additionally, personnel permanently attached to Charter Station must possess the 'spacer' microgravity gene modification.  While a gymnasium is available to assist in the maintenance of "downsider" musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, it is difficult to enforce strict 100% compliance in such a regimen.  From a long-term liability standpoint, it was decided it would be less expensive to select permanent personnel based on possession of that particular genemod.

Charter Station is home to the Coalition //Shogun-class// space dominance vehicles //Angelus// and //Onager//, and a small fleet of //Pandion-class// starfighters.  Attackers making it past this screen will face the station's defense grid, composed of a large number of heavy weapons, which can be assumed to include missiles, ETG cannon, and lasers.
