-Snow leopards are big cats of the high mountains, originating on Earth. On Wildplanet a population of snow leopards, called Irbis (after the Mongolian word for Snow leopard that founds its way into many languages) can be found that has originally been brought there by the [[Kirru]] eight hundred years ago from Earth. Genetic experiments of the kirrus have resulted in the Uncia irbis, a bipedal (digitigrade) subspecies of the snow leopard (though still able to walk on all fours if needed) which only exists on Wildplanet (not to be mixed up with the snow leopard recoms of the Solar System). The living space of the irbis are the mountain areas of Wildplanet. +Snow leopards are big cats of the high mountains, originating on [[Earth]].  Irbis tend to live solitarian in the mountains, sleeping in caves, simple cottages or outdoors. They get together in small groups, especially in mating season and when raising cubs, but there are no close-knit communities. To the other species, life of the irbis - even bipedal ones - is a bit of a mystery, though they can be quite friendly to guests if these adapt to their lifestyle. They are just shy to make contact actively.  Irbis tend to live solitarian in the mountains, sleeping in caves, simple cottages or outdoors.
