+[DarkWater pages: Who do I talk to about the Tesla TP?]
 +
+You page, "Originally? Breimh, since he originally approved creation of a class-five ship when he was RP Wizard. But since he took his toys and went home a long time ago, we're still trying to figure everything out about that TP.  I've been away for a little while myself, and the last information I have on the Tesla was its return to Sol System back in 2004." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Well. it got dumped out when there was rework on the new (back then) ship systems We were pre light system. I have since moved the ship back out into hyperspace in an untraveled part of it to hide it again. <to you>
 +
+You page, "so it hasn't returned to Sol yet?" to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Nope. not ICly. Not that I have any records of. <to you>
 +
+You page, "I'm working on a list of questions, but for the moment I'm just going off what I saw in #chat.  You have RP logs just detailing interaction between crew members, and ship's systems checks, right?" to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: I do not have any logs remaining. just gonig off memory. lost a lot in some computer crashes. <to you>
 +
+You page, "So, I guess the big question is, what got accomplished, and how much of it conforms to the theme of the MUCK?" to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Well, the original outcome was to be and still is to provid huge amounts of raw data from hyperspace and various experiments that were conducted. The data goes out to the orioginal investors to be given to who they like. Experimnents go to the companies and colledges who sponcored them. The idea was for there to be new information, things finaly registering on a new hybrid sensor system. Nothing new comes out of this for a long time. the emediat effect is that science types get some new fodder to mull through. new theories can be formed about hyperspace. and development on new things dealing with hyperspace can begin development and experimentation. the only thing new that might come of it is that the Nicola Tesla could end up becoming the first Hyperspace station for trade and tresearch at the end of its first mission. After of corse all the various interests get to look over the ship and crew for any info about long term hypserspace exposer can do. <to you>
 +
 +DarkWater pages: BRB switching computers. <to you>
 +
+DarkWater pages: Did you have any other questions? or are you still comming up with the list? <to you>
 +
+You page, "So, basically it seems to be a matter of figuring out exactly WHAT your crew discovered about hyperspace, then?" to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "I mean, that kind of data crunching could take several years.  As far as your plans to move the Tesla back into hyperspace and convert it into a trade station, I don't initially see any issues with that." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Probably some minor things. but it is like mining. we just dug up a half a planet of ore, it gots good tings in it. But someone else gets to go through the ore and try and find all the good stuff. We were just data collectors and experiment runners. Wehave ships crew, science crew, and support crew all working together. he thing that is unique is first that they got data from their unique sensors, and that they have YEARS of solid data. that is going to take a lot fo people a lot of time to go through. <to you>
 +
+You page, "So, what is it that you want to do NOW?  I mean, other than transferring that data to the interested parties." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Now at this time I need to replace lost crew with new RPers. then there will be a gruadul thing where reports of ships hearing things on open coms in hyperspace. rumors of ghost ships will probably spark all kinds of wild drunken tales. then the signals start getting stronger and after a time people record whole autorunning messages as the tesla nears home finaly. then it should get directed to the nearest neutral entity willing to deal with a possable unknown and have a gate the same or bigger then the main sol gate. The ship would come out of hyperspace for the first time in sic something years. they they got to deside what to do about it, no dought testing the outer hull for gods knows what it might have been exposed to for so long in hyper, then quarinteen of the crew and medical testing, seeping the entire ship for more what not, then the disiminaiton of data. <to you>
 +
+You page, "so, as far as I can tell, you just need a crew and some RP time." to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "the data gathered is what writers call a "McGuffin", really." to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "exactly what you guys gathered out there can be something that can be determined on-the-fly, really. or it can be referenced for future plotlines. "using data gathered from the Tesla mission, we were able to ____________."" to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "and if it relates to new technologies, those have to be vetted by staff anyway, so it isn't like someone can just pull something out of their ear." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Mainly yes, no need to cange any mucktech, that comes down whenever the staff feels like it. the issue would be that this opens up the posability for new tech to come in later. that was th orriginal purpose of this. Was a way for there to eventualy elad to huge ships with their own hyper jump drives like Bab5 did, but that was not to be instant by any streach. the issue would be however, what gov gets first dibs on handling the ship and first chance at the crew and whatnot. just being able to scan the ship would be valuble informaiton for any government. there is the who public thing of specalists of medical and what nto commign in for opinions on is it safe or not safe. can involve anyone who wants to . <to you>
 +
+You page, "so, basically, it sounds like you're just asking for permission to roleplay..." to DarkWater.
 +
 +DarkWater pages: Yes. <to you>
 +
+You page, "I mean, as long as you don't try to reference "that mysterious alien artifact" or "______________" we found out there, I don't have any issues." to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "you went out there, you amassed a crapload of exabytes of raw data on hyperspace, and now you're heading back, right?" to DarkWater.
 +
+You page, "Reader's Digest version, I mean." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Nope, we made some mysterious things...give engineers years of time to think something up and build it...you will get some interesting results, not very practical ones but results. But nothing we did not make ourselves. Did not find any new gates but maybe some of that date could be alien hyper beacons, we just did not know. but all we found on our mission is hypermetric butt loats of hyperspace and data. <to you>
 +
+You page, "well, the only thing I'd need to have vetted are the inventions, really.  Other than that, I don't see any issues." to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: The only things on this ship that are not puclib tech are the sensor arays and the computer cores. the sensors are of corse experimental hybrid tech or they would not of worked, but the ones we have are 2 km in size, bit big for most ships. and the computer cores are unable to be recreated at all by recom tech. they involve materials collected in deep dark space between systems over thousands of years of travel sublight. <to you>
 +
+You page, "do the computers do anything out of the ordinary?" to DarkWater.
 +
+DarkWater pages: Just massivly dence data storage. the systems themselves are basic, not even enough to run a simple AI on purpose. the ship was designed with the most reliable old school systems they could find exsept where those would not work. you can come look around it. we even use cintrifical force to mimic gravity instead of using some gragity plates or whatnot. <to you>
