+Uriko was born on Annyrion; the less civilized Lopangan continent to be specific, north of Epiphyte City. Her father owns and runs a small homestead there where the family keeps a bit of cattle, but his main business is as a tourist guide for the many who come to the planet from the Sol system and sometimes Oceania. Growing up near Epiphyte means that she's had to learn to handle herself in rough situations and has a pretty good street sense; it was also a pretty small town, so she spent a lot of time hanging around the airstrip watching planes and spaceships come and go and generally pestering the pilots.
