====== Furscape is... ======
 
A place set in the not-so-distant future.
 
A place where we say "let's pretend", but in a realistic manner.
 
A place with a hard science fiction setting where, oh, by the way, you can play a character that has fur or scales or feathers and even a tail. But you don't have to.
 
A place where players are encouraged to create original character concepts - within the setting's theme and rules - and then interact with others.
 
A place where nothing happens to your character without your consent.
 
====== Furscape is not... ======
 
Tapestries, Blue Velvet, or any other place with a primarily adult theme. What your adult-aged character does in the privacy of their bedroom with another consenting adult-aged character is nobody's business but those involved. But keep it there in the bedroom.
 
The Haloverse. You aren't the Master Chief. But that's ok.
 
Dark Angel. You are not the end result of a secret government program to create supermodel supersoldiers. Or any other kind of supersoldier, for that matter.
 
A galaxy far, far, away. Please check your Force sensitivities, blasters, and lightsabers at the door.
 
Star Trek.  Technobabble and handwavium have their places in science fiction, but not here.
 
Pirates of the Caribbean.  While we do have space pirate characters, don't expect them to rescue themselves from slow death on a deserted asteroid by using a pair of giant space turtles.
 
Tooniversal Studios. Save those characters and their hijinks and enjoy them in their rightful place, Saturday morning, accompanied by a bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs.
 
The World of Greyhawk. Our admins sometimes joke about robes and wizard hats, and swords are definitely in-theme, but keep sorcery where it belongs, at at table with dice and Mountain Dew.
