Vulcan Industrial Zone is located near Mercury's south pole. Permanently shielded from the Sun inside a deep crater, it was once home to a subsurface mine and ore refinery. After the New Sol Jumpgate went online, cheaper, safer access to ore from the Belt made Vulcan's profit margins disappear almost overnight.
